Where were you this weekend?
By admin | May 7, 2008
I just got settled down after attending the VIP seminar this weekendand all I can say is WOW, I am so f@cking motivated I cant sleep. I just wanted to give a shout out to all the presenters and amazing people I interacted with this weekend thank you. Heres a summary of what went down.
We got in Friday around lunchtime and after some mongolian buffet, A few beers and a little sampling of Columbus nightlife we were checked in and at the hotel. I decided to stay up super late and venture into the lobby to find and hang out with Rob Pilger, Smitty and diesel crew, Luke from Austin, and Scott and friends from New Hampshire. All these guys are great people and It was a pleasure to chill and have a few to many beers. When all was said and done I got to bed around 3am excited about the days ahead.
Saturday came way to early and after a good breakfast from the road to jack we arrived ready to go at 9am. Heres a summary of highlights from the seminars presenters
Dave Tate and Mike Szudarek:
Both Dave and Mike have a very good ability to explain things In a very simple easy to understand manner. They talked of business and Marketing and as soon as they were done I was inspired to go home and step up my game big time there speeches were worth the price alone to attend the seminar.
Alwyn Cosgrove:
What more can be said about Alwyn the guy is a legend and one the most knowledgable nicest guys I have ever met. I probably annoyed the crap out of him by asking him so many questions but he took the time to answer and help me so much with my training and programming I cant thank him enough. Alwyn is also one the best speakers in this business and it was an honor to listen to him talk.
Jim Wendler:
Jim is definetly one of the most entertaining people to here talk. His straight up approach to life and lifting is a quality everyone should strive to have. His List is worth its weight in gold for any lifter.
James Smith:
You are a genius and I almost made it all the way through your speech without getting lost. You have a passion for your style of training that can be respected by anybody. James is extremely knowledgable about block training and soviet methods he might know more than the country itself.
Justin Harris:
Justin is a genius when it comes to supplementation and nutrition I only wish I knew half the words that came out of his mouth. I was also able to get alot of advice from him about how to market my DVD.
BMX Strong DVD
Matt Kroc:
Matts speech about mental prep was something that I feel will help my bike racing to the fullest. His psychotic style of training and rationale behind has to be seen believe. Matt was also very friendly and took the time to watch my DVD and being what an amazing lifter he is I cant thank him enoug as to what that means to me.
Joe Defranco:
IF you havent seen joe present in person you are truly missing out. Joe is a straight up guy and is passionate about spreading our training methods to everyone. Anytime I can support Joe I try my best to do so I can pretty much say without his program I would have never made it to the pro level in my sport. He also took the time to review my DVD and I cant thank him enough.
Saturday turned out to be quite a night after way too many beers myself,Luke,Elliot, and Pilger apparently pissed of everyone at the crown bar by our presence. this was quite interesting because I still dont know what happened all I know is A group of locals tried to fight us but ended up fighting themselves and getting tazed by the local law enforcement. there is never a dull moment in
my life.
Sunday consisted of a training/networking day.For what ever dumb reason I decided to do the prowler challenge, and pull off a time of 37 seconds. This was quickly beat by the canadian who I do not know his name but he is a beast and he earned that prowler. I got to talk to alot of cool people and I want to say thanks to The doorman for letting me talk his ear off about his book, Scott and Ben from Newhampshire, Rob Pilger for some good web advice, and everyone else I am forgetting thank you for one hell of a weekend.
I also trained today:
Hurdle hops:
4 sets of 6 (30″ hurdle)
Sled drag 400yds
320
315
planks all side 1 min each
