What Do You Do The Week Before A BMX Race?

    good video, i love going to nationals and seeing the kids who dont train think a miracle is going to happen on race day, same with the eating, its pretty funny what people think and do at big races.

    i eat the same, but i actually scale back the training a bit for a big race. locals and stuff like that, i will just train through. i run all of my training in 4 week cycles, 4 hard weeks, then the 5th week i back off a bit. almost like an active recovery week. then back on for 4 more hard weeks and so on. i pick the races i plan to attend throughout the year, then plan my training around that, so that my light weeks fall on the race week. it doesn’t always workout perfect, but i have been doing it so long, i’ve learned to adjust it as needed.

    but what works for me might not work for someone else!!

    it is def good to have backoff/deload weeks i usually have every 4to 6 weeks

    Good advice the main is just listen to your body if your beat up and sore its easy DONT TRAIN, if you feel good hit it hard.
