BMX Training Basics (Part 2)

Compound Exercises Work, Body part splits suck.
In your quest for training to improve your speed on a bike, I urge you to avoid the magazines on the shelf at your local grocery store. We are athletes not bodybuilders, everything we do in the gym is to improve performance, this is something all to many people forget. So leave the curls and pressdowns for your local gym rat and bust your ass on these 5 exercises.
Deadlift
Lunge
Pullup
Bentover row
Pushups
These are what I believe to be the best exercises for BMX racing. Notice I did not include the squat-although a great lift, I feel single leg strength to be far more important than a huge squat. Love them or hate them these lifts are no joke, and the harder you work at these the faster you will get. So stop making Bullshit excuses as to why cant and make it happen.
